Contemporary clinical research shows that close proximity to horses changes human brain wave patterns suggesting that humans can be transformed in a very positive way when in the presence of horses. It has also been revealed in studies conducted by HeartMath that horses have extremely strong heart rhythms which have the capacity to affect our own heart rhythms, similar to a magnetic force, which help relax and calm us when in their presence. This explains how appropriate interaction with horses can therefore be extremely therapeutic to adults and children alike.
Equine Assisted Therapy in its many forms is gaining huge popularity and acclaim as a transformational and healing modality around the world, and more recently in Australia. People have known for many centuries that horses have a special capacity to heal, relax and promote happiness within us, but only now are we starting to really tap into, and understand that power.

The fact that horses are prey animals means they are highly sensitive to behaviour and body language and have also evolved to become highly attuned to human emotions and responses through centuries of co-habitation with us. Studies are now discovering that horses can actually recognise different human facial expressions depicting things like anger, happiness and sadness which shows a level of evolutionary intelligence and understanding far greater than we have previously recognised. What this means is that we have a very intelligent and intuitive being who picks up on our inner and outer world perfectly and responds by mirroring ourselves back to us in a non-judgemental, non-biased and non-invasive way.

Some of the key things we work with here at Consciously You include:

  • Confidence and self-esteem: finding your spark and your voice
  • Illness recovery: regaining energy, strength and vitality
  • Depression and anxiety: Learning how to deal with, recover and move forward
  • Personal development and self-discovery: Finding yourself and your purpose.
  • Stress including PTSD: Coping with and overcoming aspects of PTSD and stress.
  • Trust and grief: rebuilding hope, faith and love after traumatic experiences

Equine Assisted Coaching is the result of a lifetime of passion for working with horses combined with a lifetime of passion for working with people on a transformational level. Equine Assisted Coaching is a form of Equine Assisted Therapy I have developed based on my background in Life Coaching and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It combines the knowledge, skills and techniques I have learnt from these modalities with the wisdom and spirit of horses. This process is facilitated by myself but guided by the horse to take you where you need to go. It is a reflective way to encourage growth and transformation for the client and sometimes the horse as well!

Horses have the ability to see into and connect to our innermost heart and reflect back to us what our beliefs, emotions and behaviours are in a way that opens a space for positive recognition and transformation. The whole process is a very intuitive and personalised experience for all involved and is solely about the client and the results they want to achieve to create a life that fulfils them which means that every session is different. Including the interaction of horses into coaching sessions in a safe and gentle manner has proved to be a far quicker process of discovery and improvement for the client, with many extraordinary results. Unlock your potential!

There is no riding involved in Equine Assisted Coaching sessions and no prior horse experience is necessary.
